I am fascinated by the mechanisms and behaviors that allow animals to thrive. My PhD research focused on the strategies fishes employ during predator-prey interactions and how they effect the outcome of a predation interaction. As a Post-doc I investigated propulsion and the schooling behaviors of fishes. My recent work incorporates muscle physiology and animal behavior to understand how animals move between aquatic and terrestrial environments.
